What I got for Christmas

Hello...

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas.

This post is in no way to brag about my gifts, some people may think I am spoilt and some people will have got a lot more gifts than me, it is simply a post to share with you all the gifts that I was lucky enough to receive this Christmas.

If you want any more detail on any of the items I received leave a comment below and I can do a separate post on those items.

November Favourites - Top 10

I have tried out a few new products recently, which I have been reviewing on here but I wanted to start posting monthly favourites, whether these be beauty products, home décor or anything else that I love.

1.  Nivea for Men Post Shave Balm - I have been using this for a while now and I am loving it.  It works great as a primer/moisturiser.  Sometimes I use this on it so own, sometimes I will put it on top of my moisturiser.  It helps my make up to last all day and works really well with my skin.

I cant believe how close it is to Christmas.  This year seems to have flown by.

I know people will be a lot more prepared for the festive season than I am but I wanted to share with you some tips, and how I like to prepare for Christmas.  What gifts to buy and how to save a few extra pennies!

Halloween Zombie Barbie

Halloween, who doesn't love it.

Its a good excuse to decorate the house and get some extra sweet treats in before Christmas, carving pumpkins and having the faces light up your house with the candles glowing inside! :)

OK so it probably is more of a time for children but doesn't mean to say us big kids cant enjoy it too.

I don't normally go out on Halloween but this year I was going into town with my friend so we decided to get dressed up too.

After spending hours on you tube watching tutorials and looking for a makeup look that I wanted to try and re create I decided I was going to go as Zombie Barbie.

I went to Ann Summers and found a fancy dress that would work and got some blood and face paints.

The tutorial that I based my look on was by Nataliebeautyyy - click here for the tutorial.

More New Make Up!

Hello,

In my last post I did a quick review on the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette.  Whilst in Debenhams purchasing that I pick up a couple of other products.  You know what its like, you go in looking for one thing, enquire about something else and before you know it you have tried out soooo many products and walked away with a few more than what you originally went in for!

You can never have toooo much make up....Right?!?

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette Review

I have been loving my urban decay naked palettes but I wanted a new one for fall with some different shades so I went to get a Too Faced eye shadow palette.  I came away with the Chocolate Bon Bons Palette.  It has 16 lovely shades with a range of matte and shimmer shades.  Perfect browns/red and pinks for autumn.  The colours are sooo pigmented to, and after trailing them over a week they do last all day!

Speaking in front of 100 people for charity.

Part of my job is organising events, whether they are corporate, for charity, or just for fun.  Earlier this year I decided to organise a Charity Black Tie Dinner to raise money for Together for Short Lives.  They work with children hospices around the UK.  As a company we are sponsoring them for the next 2 years.

So I booked the venue, invited the people, chose the theme and booked the entertainment.  I thought it would be fun and easy but it was a lot more hard work than that.

The theme I went for was James Bond, lots of films to choose from and hours scrolling through pintrest gave me plenty of ideas to  make the centre pieces.

I have tried and tested a number of concealers for a number of different problem areas that I have and I have found a few that work for me.  Most of these products are from a drug store so they are very affordable.

My Life update!

Hi all,

Sorry I have been quiet on here recently, I want to get at least 2 posts a week up on here but my day job has been taking over my life these past 2 weeks, as I am organising a Black Tie Dinner to help raise money for Together for Short Lives.

I am holding a black tie ball at Ribby Hall Village (a lovely hotel/spa/wedding venue near Preston, Lancashire (UK)) next week with a surprise theme! :)

I have had to organise it all from inviting friends, colleagues and clients, making the centre pieces and sorting out the seating plans.

It has been quite tiring and taken up a lot of my time, but I love it.  I think an events planner would be  good job for me, and I am doing a course in event planning next year :)

I will post lots of photos and update you more on how the event went next week, and reveal my surprise theme!

If there are any questions you have about organising an event from start to finish, please leave them in the comments below or tweet me.

Don't forget to give me a follow to keep upto date with my new posts.

Fake Tan

As summer is coming to an end and Autumn/Winter is setting in, no more summer sun to keep my skin a lovely natural bronzed shade so I have to resort to sunbeds and fake tan to keep my skin glowing all year round!

My go to products at the moment are St Moritz in the mousse or Dove Summer Glow for medium to dark skin.  I'm not a naturally pale person so I do pick up the darker shade of the tans.

Primer

Choosing a good primer that lasts and doesn't make your make up slide around your face can be hard.

Each and everyone of us has a different skin tone and type.  Some products that work for your friends might not work for you.  I have had to go through a bit of trial and error to find ones that I like and that work for my skin.

I sit watching you tube videos every day and I always like to try new products that people recommend, (I have been through quite a few!)

At the moment I don't have too many in my collection as I have found a couple that I really like.

All about Lips

Sorry I have been a bit quiet these past 2 weeks, I have been soooo busy at work I haven't been able to get my head into writing a blog post, but I am back, after a good nights sleep, a lazy weekend off work and time to get some posts wrote.

Today I'm going to be talking all things lips, going through the products that I have and what are my fav, and also some of the products that I want to try out, and have yet to get my hands on.

I haven't got a HUGE collection of lip products, but it is slowly growing!

Stand I ordered from Ebay, it is an acrylic lipstick/lipgloss holder.
This keeps them all together neat and tidy

Baking Cupcakes

Last weekend, I  thought I would get out my recipe book and make some cupcakes.  I also wanted to attempt cake pops as they look fun and easy to make. (I am no expert baker by any means)

I used my recipe book (which I don't often use!) and found some chocolate cupcakes.

Foundation Review

I have tried a lot of foundations over the years, as we all have.  Going through the stages of trial and error, finding the right colour etc, and over the years there has been a lot of different products on the market from drug store to high end, or a matte to dewy finish, but I have found a few from the ones that I have tried that I keep going back too.
I find certain ones I wear more than others but I do like to change it up a bit and not wear the same one ALL the time.
One brand I have used for ever and always go back to is Loreal.  They have a good range for all skin types and different finishes, depending on the coverage and look that you are going for.
I have 3 in my collection at the moment.

My Life

So I thought I would update you all a little bit more on my life, and why I have started this blog.

I'm 27 and living in Lancashire (North West, England)  I am living with my boyfriend of 2 ½ years.

My Make Up Collection

I have always loved wearing make up and trying out new products but it is only the past 2 years that I have started to try out more products and try some high end beauty products too, although I still use a lot of drug store ones.

I will do a different post for each range of products, some posts may contain a couple of products if I don't have a large collection.

I am no expert by any means and all my views are my own personal opinion.

Any new products that I get I will do a full review of when I have tested them on myself.

My Everyday Make Up

Hi everyone,

So I wanted to share with you the products that I use on a daily basis, when getting ready for work.

These products do sometimes change slightly at the weekend depending on what my plans are but for my everyday look in the office this is what I tend to use.

One thing that does change slightly daily is my moisturiser and primer.  I will do a separate post on these.
